CAMOUFLAGE
to be exhibited at the American Hospital
Art Gallery
The Camouflage exhibition which features Ekrem Yalçındağ's wall painting may be visited from 25 June - 20 September 2008 at the American Hospital.
"Operation Room" is the new name of the exhibition space at the American Hospital. Operation Room will host contemporary art exhibitions under the curatorship of Ekrem Yalçındağ (1964, Gölbaşı). In addition to its medical connotation, which is an obvious reference to the location of the venue, "Operation" is also a military concept.
First of the exhibition series planned to be held at the venue, Camouflage aims to camouflage itself in the medical area. With this first exhibition, Ekrem Yalçındağ establishes a direct relationship between his work and the venue.
The walls of the exhibition room hall is painted in earth colours all over and fragmented with the use of colours at Ekrem Yalçındağ's Camouflage exhibition. The floral motives, stylized and developed by the artist since the mid-1990s, are this time transformed into components which cover the entire surface of the exhibition hall, offering visitors an operation field where they can enter and move freely. |
