Patients' Right to Obtain Medical Care and Treatment
- To be able to receive the best medical care.
- To be able to select and/or change the health facility, the physician and other health professionals.
- To participate in, accept or deny medical decisions about themselves.
- To be able to get medical care all the time.
- To get equal medical care regardless of race, language and religion.
Patients' Right for Informed Consent
Patients have the right to request information regarding the procedures to be performed and to ask for informed consents.
Confidentiality, Respect for Personal Life and Safekeeping of Medical Records
- All medical files are personal & confidential and safekeeping should be done accordingly.
- All medical files should be kept complete and correct.
- Patients (or their authorized representative) have the right of access to these records.
Patients' Right to Communicate with Hospital Authorities
Patients have a right to be able to contact an authorized employee of the hospital to report their concerns or complaints. As an institution caring for and protecting the rights of our patients, American Hospital has established the Patients' Rights Office, first of such a service in Turkey, to be able to provide the best for our patients.
Every patient admitted to the hospital is free to contact the Patients' Rights Office to obtain further information during his or her treatment.
