Our hospital has always served with the guiding principle of excellence in healthcare. We first became operational in a timber mansion in the Çarşıkapı district of Istanbul in 1920. We moved to our current location in 1939, and in 1945 the hospital was named Admiral Bristol Hospital. In 1995 the hospital was acquired by the Vehbi Koç Foundation, which has proven to be the most important impetus in our 89-year history. To respond to the rising demand of healthcare in recent years, The Vehbi Koc Foundation has made a series of investments allowing our hospital to achieve the highest quality of healthcare possible and significantly expand our physical capacity. As a result, the Vehbi Koç Foundation American Hospital has become Turkey’s premier private hospital.
Recently the Vehbi Koç Foundation American Hospital began taking on an entirely new visage. We have expanded the intensive care units to 60 beds, increased the overall number of beds to 300, and expanded the outpatient clinic areas to cover 12,000 square meters. Our diagnostic and therapeutic units are fitted with state-of-the-art technology and our overall working environment is designed to further improve our standards of quality. On these premises we serve with 500 physicians, which include 200 active staff, and over 1,000 nurses, technicians, medical and administrative support staff. We are fully committed to raising the level of security and satisfaction of our patients, their families and our personnel, and will continue to improve the level of healthcare and quality of service we provide. In addition, we are acquiring the newest and most advanced medical technology and closely following all innovations in medicine to place them at the service of our doctors and patients.
In the future we will continue to target the highest world standards to improve our
services. The first manifestation of this approach is a multidisciplinary cancer center.
The center will focus on the early diagnosis and comprehensive treatment of cancer as well as the rehabilitation of cancer patients.
Our objective is to become an institution where patients, who would likely consider alternatives abroad for their treatment, will have access to comparable healthcare here in Turkey.
We welcome you all to our newly-built facility.
